Who Are These People?

And why do they keep asking me to feed them?

Today, I bring you The Offspring: An Interview

Name: Juliet Raedeke
Age: 8.5
What do you want to be when you grow up? A famous seafood chef and artist
Favorite food: Seafood with pasta, calamari
Favorite thing about your brother: When he’s quiet. And his puffball. (That’s the cowlick on the back of his head; we’ve yet to find a cut or product able to tame it.)
One wish: To go on a Mayan adventure to Chiapas with Mom
Funny memory: “When Mom told the story about getting food poisoning from Pea Salad.” (Um, yeah, not so hilarious to me.)
Favorite thing to do at home: Play scrabble and cook.
Favorite thing to do outside of home: Go skiing or travel
Website: Natch! Click here.
Blog: But of course! Click here.

Name: Hank Raedeke
Age: 5
What do you want to be when you grow up? The person who owns the restaurant where Juliet cooks. (To this, Juliet rolls her eyes and says, “No thanks. He’ll probably own something like Witham’s Truck Stop and serve all-you-can-eat nuggets and candy.”)
Favorite food: Candy
Favorite thing about your sister: When she plays spies with me.
Funny memory: “I was playing Duck, Duck, Goose at school and as I ran around the circle my pants fell down!”
One wish: That candy was healthy.
Favorite thing to do at home: Make robots with Dad and play Spider Pig (this is where Scott holds him upside-down and lets him walk on the ceiling. It’s a Homer Simpson thing.)
Favorite thing to do outside of home: Have a playdate with Grammy
Website: Why, yes! Click here.
Blog: Why not? Click here.

Haha, do they really play Spider Pig? That is awesome.

Great interviews, lovely kids!

Your daughter is a seriously good writer! No joke, she's really entertaining. And apparently she's also an amateur sushi chef, which is way cool. We actually tried making sushi last night and I don't even want to go there...

I love their names: Juliet and Hank. So great.

P.S. Thanks, Hank, for showing us where the treasure is buried. When I find it I promise to leave you some ;)

Spider pig needs photos! and what a cute exercise. I should do these interviews with mine. It's funny how kids will change their answers entirely from day to day.

Do it again in a few months and see what they say.

Heck, they've got it together. They have more web presence than I do, ha!

Cute interviews! Your kids are going to be top-bloggers in just a few years!

You seriously have the most adorable kids on the planet. I want to meet them in person.

I love that they have websites and blogs. Great post, Christy!!!

AC–Juliet will be so happy to hear you liked her writing! And good luck with that treasure map—despite many holes in the backyard, it hasn’t yielded much yet.

Katie –I’ll try to snap Spider Pig in action! You’re right, answers change day to day, hour to hour. Please do it with your kids and post on Plot This!

Casey—Scott and I are ex-high tech workers, so we can't help ourselves. Nerds!

Debbie—We’ll come to PDX this summer so you can meet them in person—once you've given them the once over I'll ditch them with Scott so we can go out!

Kimberly—Nothing beats your post today! One of my favorite ever. Everyone should check this out: http://kimberlyderting.blogspot.com/2009/03/overheard-at-my-house.html

i assume you help your 5 year old blog? My girl is 5 and wants to blog - scares the heck out of me. do you protect it to make it invitees only?

Christy Raedeke said...

Shelli - Yes, both blogs are registered under my account with my password so neither kid can get on and write anything unless I set them up to do it. Mostly I just wanted to secure their names.blogspot.com for their future use. Any communication/comments made on their blogs goes to my email.

Email is the thing that scares me the most! They won't have email accounts for YEARS...

These are great, Christy! I enjoyed reading the interviews and their blogs. I agree with Hank, candy should be healthy!

Christy Raedeke said...

Thanks, Maggie! They enjoyed being the center of blog attention for the weekend.
