You're Going Down, cuteoverload.com

As soon as I get things organized here I’ll be moving to Central Sulawesi. This just in:

“Mouse-sized primates called pygmy tarsiers, not seen alive in 85 years, have come out of hiding from a mountaintop in a cloud forest in Indonesia.”

Tarsius pumilus fulfills all my dream qualities:
Absurd – check
Cute – check
Fluffy – check
Miniature – check
Big-eyed – check check

I'm planning on starting an All Pygmy Tarsier All The Time website, which will surely eclipse the reigning Cute Overload in the absurd fluffy miniature big-eyed cuteness website department.

Who's with me, people? Anyone? Let me allow the tarsiers to speak for themselves:

Oh holy goodness. That last one looks like an alien, but still adorable. But is anyone else creeped out by their hands? Their old-man-looking hands?

I'm in! How could anyone refuse?

Oh, the hands! They fit another category for me: disproportionate features, especially if big eyes are involved!

How funny, or should I say, cute, is cuteoverload.com??!!

But since these "things" look like Dobby as an infant, I think I shall be a member of YOUR group!

Can't wait to check out Geek Universalis, as well. Ahhh The things Christy finds....

Too funny!!!

Okay, I'm actually kind of afraid of these things--it's the hands. Plus, the one in the last picture looks like he's having some evil twisted thoughts (like those mean gremlins that the cute little gremlins turned into).

I do NOT want to find one of these under my bed. I think they probably bite.

Oh but SF, I'll bet their bites leave the cutest imprint EVER...

I'm with sf, they kind of scare me. The last one looks like it could leap of that hand and suction itself to your face. I'd be afraid to hold it too for fear of squishing it. I can't decide if they are cute or just plain creepy.

I just saw this SAME animal on Laini's site! weird. Perhaps they are taking over...

Ooh! I love little weird primates!

And I didn't know you were in Oregon -- I've seen your comments on the Mermaids; nice to *meet* you!

Sooo nice to meet you as well, Laini!

You had me at Sulewasi. Is that in Oregon, or is that in alien freak animal that allegedly came down from a mountain top. Yeah, maybe came down to devour all of us. It's just too freaky for words that creature. I'm in the 'freaky old man hands that will do something to you' camp. I'm sorry, I draw the line at hairless cats, which are ugly, but you know what a cat can do. These things, they could be tribles, or maybe lamprey eels. Look 'em up people, they bore into the sides of other fish and leave the remains bouncing on the bottom of the ocean floor. Oh God, the late night hours are getting to me. Did I tell you I burned my taquitos?

WEll, as I was reading Graeme's comment, my 8 year old, MEg came down and saw this freakish monkey and so we have now downloaded and printed for school :-)

See, I like the first one. it's the so-ugly-it's-cute thing. I wonder if I could keep one as a pet. Hm... maybe it would bite a lot.

Scratch that.

I'll have you know that after I read your *cute monkey* post here, I had about three dreams of rabid, killer mini monkeys chasing and attacking me! Thanks for that.
