I wish I could go. That would be really cool. Oh, and I've included you in my "lemon list". Its not as bad as it sounds. Really. See here: http://workingmymuse.blogspot.com/2009/04/im-lemon.html
I've never been to a conference, but I would love to go to L.A. for any reason.
My daughter is so over the moon about L.A. that she set the clock in her room to L.A. time just in case anyone wants to know what time it is in California.
Maybe there's a conference for moms with eccentric kids. That I'll go to...hell, I'll present.
Steve - hopefully one day we'll meet at a conference! Maybe in 2010 we can do some kind of "Writing for Indie Publishers" panel or something...
Eric - THANK YOU for including me on your lemon list! I appreciate it so much!
Barb - so sorry about missing the party, going to this conference was part of the fellowship I got so I'm kinda obligated.
Anne - bring the husband and LA-obsessed child! They can do LA things while you do conference things, the most important of which happen in the patio bar...
PC - I *really* hope to meet you at a conference one day. You're a peach.
Paul - SWEET!!!!!!!! Great news!
Suz - Most definitely! Maybe carry a sign with your name; by then you'll be so skinny and cut I probably won't recognize you.
I'd LOVE to go to the LA SCBWI conference but . . . I live waaaaaay over on the East Coast and am feeling the effects of this recession. Money just doesn't stretch as far as it used to! Sigh. BUT I'm aiming for the Winter Conf in NY (I live in NJ) in 2010.
Hi Cyrstal! I'd love to go to the NY one - maybe some day that will be possible. I guess until we hit the big time we have to stick to our respective coasts!

Aw, I wish I were. But I went to the NYC conference this year, and one national conference per year is my limit.
Slightly OT, why is the winter one in New York, and the summer one in LA? Can we fix that?
You can't go! You must come to the Emgagement party for Andy & Christine on the 8th...
I can't spell this early
eNgagement

I'm so jealous. I wish I could go...TOTALLY.
I'm hoping next year I could possibly arrange a family vaca around some sort of conference. I know my hubby and I have been dying to go to Cali.
Not sure which conference but I'd like to pitch my piece by then.
Just made hotel reservations yesterday. sf and katie are already in. Party time |:~)
Meet you guys on the patio!
