You can be a dork too!

In 2011 my name will be on Mars.

Yours can too.

I’m not really sure why this seemed so enchanting to me, but when I heard about it I beelined over to the NASA website. Just type in your name and location and your name will be placed on a microchip going to Mars. You even get a certificate proving the fact.

Am I the only one who thinks this is kind of cool? If you like the idea, head over to NASA.gov to sign up!

You are so not the only one! I did this a while back for me and the kids!

That is way cool. I'm heading over to add my name! The giant Saturn V rocket towers over my hometown and it seems like half our inhabitants work for the local NASA center, so it's been all-Apollo, all the time around here for the past few days.

Berk, I laughed so hard I almost passed a kidney! Can't wait for the Martians to call roll.

Anna & PJ, I love that I'm not the only spacedork!

want to know what's worse - I bought a plot of land on the moon for my hubby in the sea of serenity - don't ask.

am i a double dork or what? I mean who even can say they own the moon to sell it. But 50$ later, I own it. or do I? ;)

Well, at least the Martians will have names of people to track back to when they decide to fine the people on the blue orb, who have been littering their planet for decades. Imagine that, you may be celebrated for being the infamous "Litterbugs of Mars" someday. "Boldly trashing where no one has trashed before. These are the trashy voyages of the Earthlings!"

Please do not attempt to adjust this comment. (Hope all of you saw the eclipse today.)

Seriously, Berk is a freak. A very funny freak!

And I will be joining you and McBits on Mars.

Omg, JBERK! You're going to get banned from that planet too! Hope they got room on the moon. Shoot.

And yes, I will make a reservation... but maybe just for me. I need a new office space.

Christy, you always find the coolest stuff!!!

Is it even dorkier to send your book characters into outer space? My two main characters were listed on the microchip for NASA's Glory Satellite Mission. Mars is very cool. Thanks for telling us about this, Christy. I'm heading over to the site to send them there too.

First of all I need to just *freak out* becasue Nan Marino just commented on my blog! If you haven't read "Neil Armstrong is My Uncle and Other Lies Muscle Man McGinty Told Me" by Ms. Marino you are in for a treat! It's soooo good.

Second of all, sending your characters to Mars is genius!

Thank you for saying such nice things about my book. Your kind words made my day! The dog is looking at me funny because I am jumping up and down and being so giddy.
