Sometimes I am an idiot. Like today. As I mentioned in an earlier post, today was the "date to appear" stamped on the photo ticket I got in the mail awhile ago. So I actually put on clothes that have to be dry cleaned, got my children off, and then showed up at court expecting to talk to someone Judgy. Well, officially Judgy, that is, not just judgmental.
Instead I got an unfriendly woman standing behind a sheet of bullet-proof glass. The microphone on my side was down by the sliver of an opening that will allow a piece of paper to slide through but not, say, a hunting knife. This meant that I had to bend over like I was talking to a toddler in order to speak through the glass while looking at her belt buckle, not her face. This is municipal court? What's "courtly" about this?
To make a long story short, through a series of misunderstandings that I was too embarrassed to admit, my case is now going to trial. The best part? The part the snarky woman behind glass didn’t tell me until after I chose this route? There was an officer in the van, not a robot.
I’ll face him at my trial on June 10.

Unless Robocop has nothing better to do, he will probably be a "no-show". Were there others passing you by at the time? If so, perhaps he caught their speed and attributed it to your car or maybe did not drop the speed back fast enough from the previous car in front of you. It is an imperfect science at best. You can win, despite the fact you were probably speeding.
Good luck.
I almost got kicked out of our municipal court when my husband lost his temper at the lady behind the bullet proof glass. Something about plexiglass makes them mouthy.
I baking you a cake with a file in it at this very moment...
My husband went to traffic court on a photo ticket and brought a three ring binder full of research on how light cameras weren't accurate (his was a red light ticket - which to this day he swears he never went through it red). He came prepared to argue.
The judge took one look at him and at the ticket. He had a different pair of glasses and had shaved off his goatee. The judge said it didn't even look like him in the photo (which it so was! And my husband didn't even argue that!) and dismissed it.
In short - make trouble. They like it easy.
But not too much trouble or you'll need that cake with the file...
Will they allow conjugal visits?
diane :)
