So it's Book Release Eve and I got the best present ever! A nice review from Booklist by Ilene Cooper. You have NO IDEA how relieved I am by this. I was really starting to sweat the review thing. Now who cares if I get some bad ones? Ilene Cooper liked my book!
The Daykeeper's Grimoire, Raedeke, Christy (Author)
May 2010. 384 p. Flux
Caity doesn’t mind spending the summer at her parents’ newly inherited Scottish castle. For one thing, there’s a monkey that can do origami. For another, there’s the hunky nephew of the housekeeper. But if that wasn’t enough, 16-year-old Caity soon finds herself embroiled in a fantastical mystery. The castle itself, sitting on a lonely spit of land, is full of strange symbols and hidden spaces. In short order, she learns that she is to be one of the teenagers who will bring the world to a new enlightenment. First, of course, she has to squash the evil doings of some very secret societies. Just about every New Age totem one can think of gets a mention here: runes, sacred spaces, ancient prophecies, and especially the countdown to 2012. What leavens book one in the Prophecy of Days series is Caity herself. A delightful heroine, she’s funny, frank, and mostly true to the way a real teen would act if she found herself in such an odd circumstance. Readers will want to follow Caity’s adventure. — Ilene Cooper

Congratulations!
This is so exciting -- and well-deserved!
It's fun reading someone else's perspective on PoD; I know how you would sum it up, and how I would, and now we have Ms Cooper's awesome summary!
Congrats Christy! We are so happy for you!

Congrats!!!!!! So, so happy for you :)
Hey Christy,
It was really exciting to meet you and be the first person you autographed the book for. I just finished reading Prophecy of Days. Your book is amazing!! I loved it. You have become my favorite author. I am so glad I was able to get it before it was officially released. Now I am hooked and can't wait for Book 2. I already have it on my calendar to watch for it next May. I wish you many years of success as an author.
Nikki, your first Fan
Oh, that's so exciting, Christy! Congrats! I'll have to order it from Amazon this week.
Christy,
Look at the Amazon page for your book. I also spotted a review on a page called "Wicked awesome books: Waiting on Wednesday".
OK, so...I wrote the reviews myself. But I got to be the FIRST review on Amazon, and hope it steers more readers to buy your book. Nikki got lucky to get the book a week before release (and a signed copy at that), but now that I have wrestled it from her firm grip, I'll be singing the praises as well. Can't wait for book 2.
Thanks everyone, for you kindness and enthusiasm!
NIKKI - Can you please email me so I can send you the photos of you and Patrick McManus? I can't seem to find the slip of paper with your email on it! christy at christyraedeke dot com.
STEVE, thank you so much for the lovely Amazon review!
