The Muse and The Omen

After a particularly horrible week of work, I decided to run away. I called my Mom Thursday night to see if the cabin was open and left right after work on Friday to see how much I could get done on Book 2. Here’s a photo montage of my weekend of writing.

What is up with you and mysteries in the woods? I hope you got a lot of sleep, found all the words you were looking for and didn't even notice the chick staring in the windows.

good omen for you, bad omen for that lovely bird...everything happens as its meant to be.

So that's where that robot spy bird that Scott & I cooked up this weekend got off to.

Can I have your mom's number so I can book that cabin for myself for a week? :) Beautiful!

I think the dead bird is a good omen....kind of like your cat-guardian-angel was condoning your need to get away and leaving you a little gift.....

I'm so jealous that you have an escape plan (I mean writing cabin in the woods)! Sorry about your crappy week, I hope you got plenty of work done on book two!!! And a little R&R too!

Nice escape pictures. I have to tell you though, the image of the dead bird caused me to think of a story starting out that way. The MC finds a dead bird on their doorstep, an omen that launches them into a whole series of events. I have no idea where I'd go with it, but I just thought it was a really great opener.

Sorry to hear about the rough week at work.

You could claim Swine Flu and stay home for a while. Everyone has it, so it would be totally plausible.

That muse looks DELICIOUS!

So glad you got away, and hope you got lots of writing done, BUT, yuk on the dead bird! I would have been freaked out!

Some beastie left you a gift--that seems like a good omen, although the bird might disagree. I can't believe how many mysteries seem to find you. You are a story magnet, for sure!

WOW. I'm very jealous right now. I wish I could run away...

And I'd say a dead bird on a doorstep oddly enough sounds like a good omen. :-)

find out what the blue jay animal totem means!

So, you made it home safely? I'd say the dead bird is good--possibly sacrificed for your benefit.

Good omen. Anything normal would mean the book would turn out dull.

Oh, I am so jealous! I was just driving down the road in the newly brisk weather thinking, "I need to go away to a nice cabin somewhere and write alone."

Seriously! JUST thinking exactly that!
